His professional path has led him to live and work in five different countries, an experience that has profoundly influenced his creative hand. He believes that every project carries a piece of the creator’s soul, a mixture of their origins and the life they have experienced across borders.

With a career rooted in the prestigious French perfumery schools and refined at Symrise, Gueros represents a rare breed of artist who balances the rigor of science with the intuition of a storyteller. His expertise is particularly noted in the field of fine fragrances, where he is one of only twenty two perfumers globally dedicated to creating high concentration scents.

The inspiration: A nautical legacy in the riviera

The genesis of Agneta is inextricably linked to the golden era of the nineteen sixties and seventies. Gueros found his primary inspiration in the legendary wooden sailing boat belonging to Gianni Agnelli, a vessel that perfectly mirrors the values of elegance and lifestyle cherished by Eight & Bob.

Gueros describes the process as a translation of marketing into smell. He imagined the play of light on the rocks of the Mediterranean, the scent of the sea waves, and the tactile feeling of a yacht with waxed, shiny wood. For Gueros, the challenge was to evoke the image of a millionaire on a yacht without falling into excess. 

This dualism between the warmth of the sun and the invigorating saltiness of the sea forms the backbone of the composition.

The alchemical soul of agneta: From coffee to oud

The magnetic pull of Agneta resides in its adult addiction, a concept Gueros explores through the scent of roasting. 

He chose Roasted Coffee for three specific reasons: it is unmistakably Italian, it is addictive, and it provides a necessary darkness to the fragrance. 

This smoky accord evokes a sense of home and security, providing elevation to the heavier amber notes that anchor the perfume.

To balance this dark intensity, Gueros introduced Magnolia, a floral note with green grapefruit freshness that serves to soften the fragrance and make it more accessible. 

He explains that you cannot use only ingredients with overwhelming identity, you need something to provide a smoother entrance to the scent.

The majesty of oud and timeless woods

At the foundation of this enigmatic fragrance lies the true star of the composition: Oud Wood. 

This material is prized for its extreme scarcity, as it takes more than seventy five years before the best oud resin can be extracted. Gueros utilized this ingredient to represent the very soul of the iate Agneta, reflecting the strength of the polished wooden deck.

Supported by Sandalwood Alba, Amber, and Roasted Woods, the base of Agneta settles into a sense of calm restraint. Gueros used Vetiver and Sandalwood to create a balanced oval of scent: the vetiver providing the lift and the sandalwood providing a creamy, milky roundness. 

He also included Ambrosianite as a booster, ensuring a dry and abstract woody note that lingers for hours on the skin.

A personal legacy of leather

For Gueros, the leather accord in Agneta is also a tribute to his own history. Growing up with a father who was a furrier and designer, the aroma of fine leather luggage was a constant presence in his early life. He channeled these memories of travel and craftsmanship into the fragrance, using Vetiver as a key ingredient to build the leather impression.
